Crispy lawns and struggling crops are becoming more common as drought has returned to Sheboygan County. 43 percent, or roughly the northern half of Sheboygan County along with adjacent areas of surrounding counties are included in the moderate drought, while the remainder is experiencing abnormally dry conditions.
The declining conditions come after rainfall fell short during both June and this month so far, and hot weather has only increased the dryness. For now, forecasters expect perhaps a quarter inch of rain over the next 7 days, and the drought is expected to persist.
