National Weather Service forecasters say that we may get a break from the horrible air quality later today, but until then all persons are advised to limit outdoor activity and spend most of the time indoors as the air quality advisory remains in effect until noon.
Air quality is described as “Hazardous” this morning with index readings above 400 in wildfire smoke. That smoke is expected to move off to the east during the course of the day, giving some brief relief especially for people with compromising health conditions, but it’s expected that a passing cold front on Saturday will probably allow smoke to return.

Hot weather is also expected to return today with the heat index in the 90s, but the more tolerable 80s are expected on Saturday and Sunday.
