Today we celebrate a man who has spent nearly two decades telling us to get our hands up, our speakers loud, and our bass levels somewhere between “reasonable” and “the neighbors are calling.”
Flo Rida turns 47 today!
And here’s the really important part…
Flo Rida and I have officially entered the 47-year-old club. The difference? He has sold millions of records, had massive worldwide hits, and made “Low” one of the most recognizable party songs of the 2000s.
I, meanwhile, have… a radio microphone and a garage full of cables.
But let’s talk about “Low.” Released in 2007, Flo Rida’s monster debut single featuring T-Pain became a gigantic worldwide hit. It spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the defining party anthems of the late 2000s.
And yes, nearly 20 years later, those opening beats still have the magical ability to make perfectly reasonable adults suddenly remember that they apparently know ALL the words.
So this morning, we’re turning the clock back to 2007 and cranking up the song that made “Apple Bottom jeans” part of the cultural vocabulary.

Happy 47th, Flo! From one 47-year-old to another… keep your pants above the floor and your hits on the radio.
