Lakeland University is among the organizations receiving a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. Lakeland officials say the $54000 grant will be used to provide services to veterans and their families at its LU Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (LUCIE) located in downtown Sheboygan.
Lakeland was one of 14 non-profits to receive the grant funding as part of the Veteran Entrepreneurship Grant, which helps organizations provide business training, technical assistance and other resources to veteran entrepreneurs. Officials say the grants are intended to strengthen services that improve the well-being and economic opportunities of Wisconsin veterans and their families.
Programming will focus on veterans who are or aspire to be entrepreneurs and will include product and idea pitch competitions, networking events, workshops, mentorship, and even conferences.
