Sheboygan’s City Plan Commission on Tuesday will take up a proposed temporary moratorium on data centers that encompass at least 10,000 square feet of floor area within either a single building or a collection of them on a single parcel within city limits. A public hearing on the moratorium is to take place after that discussion.
If approved in committee, the Plan Commission and City Attorney would be directed to draft an ordinance regulating such data centers, and the moratorium would be in place either until those regulations are approved by the full council or would expire one year after the moratorium is approved.
The Plan Commission meets at 4 PM Tuesday in the City Hall Council Chambers.
