Sheboygan County Fire Departments have nearly three-quarters of a million dollars to use to purchase and replace equipment, develop fire prevention programming, train crews and more.
The distribution from the Wisconsin 2% Fire Dues Program comes from insurers who are required to pay the state 2% of premiums collected for insurance against loss from fire. The funds are then distributed by the state Department of Safety and Professional Services according to a prescribed formula.
