A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued shortly before 3 PM today for Sheboygan County as well as adjacent areas of Fond du Lac, Washington and Ozaukee Counties.
The National Weather Service said that, as of 2:56 PM severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Rush Lake to near Oakfield to near Iron Ridge to Oconomowoc, moving east at 55 MPH. The expected hazards include 60 MPH winds and penny-sized hail that are capable of damaging roofs, siding and trees.
The warning is in effect until 4 PM, and the National Weather Service advises to remain alert for possible tornadoes that can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado, go at once into a basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
