Work to reconstruct a stretch of Erie Avenue from North Taylor Drive to North 19th Street begins today. The stretch includes the Sheboygan County Museum, the former Sunny Ridge building – which is now the Edenbrook Sheboygan Skilled Nursing facility – and access to the Taylor Heights Shopping Center. The route will be closed to through-traffic with access allowed to local properties.
The intersection of Erie Avenue with North 25th Street and Wilgus Road will be closed for complete reconstruction between July 6 and August 3rd with traffic detoured onto Kohler Memorial Drive and North Taylor Drive. Access to Wilgus and North 25th will then be restored, but Erie Avenue will remain restricted until construction is completed in October, weather permitting. As always, you’re reminded to slow down and use caution in those construction zones.
