Things are about to get even more complicated for drivers navigating the I-43 reconstruction project in Sheboygan County. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced that ramps and roadways connecting with State Highway 23 will undergo weeks-long closures beginning Monday, June 29th.
On that day southbound I-43 collector and distributor ramps and associated loops at Highway 23 will be closed for bridge work that’s expected to take 35 days to complete…that’s sometime in early August, weather permitting. The northbound counterpart will close a week later, beginning Monday, July 6th for another 35-day reconstruction ending in mid August. Traffic will be routed through either the Highway 42 interchange or Highway Y and 23 interchange depending on the destination – you’ll find a map with details on WHBL.com
It’s all part of a $21 million project that will wrap up in late October.
