Well, good morning, Sheboygan! Mother Nature apparently checked the calendar, saw November, and decided to give us the appropriate soundtrack. It’s raining outside, so naturally there’s only ONE song that makes sense to kick off this morning!
Guns N’ Roses – “November Rain!” 🌧️🎸
Released in 1992, this epic rock ballad is now 34 years old. THREE. FOUR. YEARS. OLD. Let that sink in while you stare out the window and wonder where the heck the time went.
And apparently, we’re not the only ones who love a little November nostalgia. The iconic music video has racked up MORE THAN TWO BILLION views on YouTube! That’s a whole lot of people watching Axl Rose play piano, Slash doing his thing, and a wedding that probably needed a better weather contingency plan.
Remember your illusion? Guns N’ Roses released Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II back in September 1991, and this song became one of the defining power ballads of the decade. Nearly nine minutes of piano, guitars, orchestration, and enough emotional drama to make a Wisconsin weather forecast look boring.
So grab your coffee, turn up the radio, and embrace the precipitation. If you’re going to have November rain, you might as well have the appropriate soundtrack.
Because apparently, Axl knew this morning was coming 34 years ago. 🌧️🤘
