(GREEN BAY PACKERS) – The Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms on a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers (pending physical). The Packers will acquire RB Kaleb Johnson in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round pick.
Johnson (6-1, 224), a second-year player out of the University of Iowa, was originally selected by the Steelers in the third round (No. 83 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. He played in 10 games as a rookie, recording 28 carries for 69 yards (2.5 avg.) and hauling in one pass for 9 yards. Johnson also returned eight kickoffs for 190 yards (23.8 avg.). In 2024, he earned first-team All-America honors from FWAA, Phil Steele’s College Football, Sporting News and Walter Camp and first-team All-Big Ten recognition from the coaches and media after leading Iowa in rushing with 1,537 yards and 21 TDs on 240 carries (6.4 avg.).
The Packers also acquired TE Mark Redman in exchange for a 2028 seventh-round pick. Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Sunday.
Redman (6-5, 258), a first-year player out of the University of Louisville, was originally signed by the Rams as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2025, and spent his entire rookie season on the Rams’ practice squad. After playing two seasons at the University of Washington (2020-21) and two seasons at San Diego State (2022-23), he played his final college season at Louisville (2024). Overall, Redman recorded 84 receptions for 902 yards (10.7 avg.) and eight TDs.
The Packers also traded quarterback Kyle McCord to the Miami Dolphins for a 2028 sixth-round pick.

Green Bay has also waived/injured TE McCallan Castles, S Trey Dean III and TE Thomas Yassmin, placed EDGE Collin Oliver and WR Savion Williams on injured reserve/designated for return and placed TE Luke Musgrave, EDGE Micah Parsons and DT Jordon Riley on reserve/physically unable to perform. The transactions were announced Sunday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
