Released in 1989, “If I Could Turn Back Time” became one of Cher’s biggest hits, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also gave the world one of the most unforgettable music videos ever filmed. You know the one… Cher, a battleship, a whole lot of leather, and an outfit that probably made a few naval officers question their career choices.
Fun fact: The legendary music video was filmed aboard the USS Missouri, a real U.S. Navy battleship in Long Beach, California. And yes, the video was considered so controversial that MTV initially restricted its airplay. Naturally, that only helped make it more legendary!
