The National Weather Service is considering two different outcomes from the system of storms poised to affect much of southern Wisconsin late this afternoon and evening; one keeps most impacts well to our south while the other includes Sheboygan and surrounding counties. An earlier storm complex made its way towards us without surviving the trip into more stable air, and that’s good news for Sheboygan County.
National Weather Service meteorologist Andrew Quigley told WHBL news that, given what has transpired so far, odds are that severe weather will stay south of Sheboygan County (Scenario 1), with impacts focused along the southern tier of counties near the Illinois border.
That being said, thunderstorms that do move through could be multiple, and generate rainfall that could amount to the better part of an inch within a few hours, raising the risk of ponding on roads and low-lying areas. Accordingly, a Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 PM tonight.

Still, the public needs to remain alert to changing conditions as strong winds, hail and even tornadoes could affect much of southern Wisconsin until late tonight.
