Sheboygan Police say that the victim of a fatal bicycle accident had been deceased for some time when discovered early this Friday morning.
Officers were dispatched to Horace Mann Middle School at 6:40 AM Friday when a 51-year-old Sheboygan man was found with serious head trauma. Investigators determined that the man was riding his bike without a helmet overnight when he struck a parking barrier. In light of the incident, classes at Horace Mann were cancelled for the day.
The man was not associated with the Sheboygan Area School District; no other vehicles were involved and no other persons are being sought at this time.

An accident on school grounds resulted in one fatality and cancellation of the school day at Horace Mann Middle School this morning. Sheboygan Police responded to the call at 6:40 AM with reports of a serious accident involving a bicyclist. Arriving officers found a 51-year-old Sheboygan man had died from injuries sustained during the crash.
In light of the incident, the Sheboygan Area School District made the decision to cancel classes for the day, and thanked families for their understanding and flexibility.
