SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Wisconsin National Guard specimen collection teams were back in Sheboygan County last week to conduct testing for COVID-19 at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution west of Plymouth. The effort helped push total testing by the guard over 445,000 specimens so far as teams helped support local health departments across the state with efforts to track and control the disease.
Last week Tuesday and Wednesday, the guard gathered over 1,400 specimens at Kettle Moraine. Results of that effort aren’t posted separately, but do show up in reports filed by the County Division of Public Health.
The Guard began visits in Sheboygan County in April after an outbreak occurred at Sunny Ridge, where the first county death occurred. Since then over a dozen operations have been conducted here, and last week’s was the second at KMCI.
