Stamp out Hunger
The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the largest single-day food
drive in the country and will be held on Saturday, May 11 this year. Residents have the opportunity to place non-perishable food and personal care items next to their mailboxes. Mail carriers will collect the donations while they are out on their assigned routes. SCFB invites the community to participate by donating. SCFB’s current most needed items are cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, canned soup, canned tuna, canned chicken, canned fruit, and personal care items. To help avoid collecting expired items, purchasing these items is best. Prior to your mail carrier’s arrival on Saturday, May 11, place the food items in a bag next to your mailbox. SCFB will work with mail carriers and volunteers to make sure donations are safely transferred to its warehouse to support local families facing hunger.
