Eyes in the sky are keeping watch on two state roadways, and the State Patrol is giving advance warning. The aerial patrols involve a spotter in an aircraft that observes speeding or aggressive behavior, signaling a squad that then makes the stop.
The State Patrol often announces their intentions in advance with the goal of voluntary compliance with the law, and they say it’s about safety, and that they’re not just out to get drivers.
Aerial enforcement is underway today on I-41 in Winnebago County, and will be conducted above the US Highway 12/18 Madison Beltline in Dane County on Friday.
