The chances that thunderstorms will interrupt July 4th fireworks has diminished according to National Weather Service forecasters. The odds of that activity are now 40-50% through the afternoon hours, and 20-30% by sunset when most fireworks displays would be scheduled to begin.
Should thunderstorms develop, the primary concerns would be cloud-to-ground lightning and winds up to 35 mph…along with downpours that often accompany such storms.
Sunday now offers partly sunny skies and highs near 79.
