One person is in custody while three were transported for injuries suffered in what Sheboygan Police called a “critical incident” this morning.
The SPD said that the incident involved a gun at a local business on South Business Drive, which was closed to northbound traffic at around 10:30 Friday morning. Officers responding to the call discovered three individuals with injuries, one of them a young child. All the injured were transported for treatment at local medical facilities, but there were no details concerning the seriousness of those injuries.
Police say the gun was recovered and the suspect is in the Sheboygan County Jail pending the issuance of formal charges. They add that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Northbound South Business Drive traffic between Wilson and Washington avenues remained closed as of noon today, and police are advising that people avoid that area while the investigation continues.

An announcement making that request called the reasons only “Due to a critical incident”, however scanner reports mentioned that shots were fired.
Accordingly the Sheboygan Police Department has closed northbound traffic on S. Business Dr. from Washington to Wilson Avenue for the time being while officers investigate. The SPD said that more information would be released at a later time.
