23 years ago. You remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard about the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. Music always takes us back to a time and place in our hearts and minds… This was the #1 song on the planet on that day 23 years ago… It was just as regular as can be prior to those fateful moments.
September 11th means a lot of different things to anyone you ask. Everyone has a story and a memory. Maybe you think of the towers in New York City, maybe The Pentagon in Virginia, or the stories of people fighting back over Pennsylvania… Regardless, you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the tragic series of events of the day. It’s all of that and more for all of us. What do you remember? I was working for a Top 40 music radio station that became a news and talk station that day. People just wanted to talk about what they knew and how they were feeling. We won’t ever forget those feelings. We also need to remember how those moments brought us all together so close… and on common ground. Let’s never forget September 11th 2001… Together!
