LOS ANGELES, CA (WHBL) – Austin Barnes launched his first home run of the season as the Dodgers edged the Milwaukee Brewers 1-0 in Los Angeles on Thursday night to complete the three-game sweep.
Barnes broke a scoreless tie with a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth inning. Both Barnes and Mookie Betts each tallied two hits as the Dodgers won their 11th straight game.
Caleb Ferguson earned the win in relief, while Evan Phillips locked down his 18th save. LA improved to 74-46.
Joel Payamps was charged the loss in relief after starter Corbin Burnes tossed seven scoreless frames. Milwaukee combined for just five hits as the team dropped to 65-57. Tyrone Taylor went two-for-three for the Crew.
The Brewers have a two-game lead over the Cubs and Reds in the NL Central and will open up a three-game weekend series against Texas beginning Friday night. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:30.
