With powerboat racing taking center stage in Sheboygan and many other events around the county this weekend, weather is a top concern – at least at the start. After today, weather looks ideal.
The National Weather Service was advising of a series of thunderstorm events are possibilities today. A dying line of storms was anticipated after sunrise, but wasn’t causing as much concern with forecasters as was the potential for storms with more impact this afternoon and evening. Much like this past Tuesday, these will depend on whether morning clouds break up enough for sun to charge the atmosphere to produce stronger hit-and-miss storms between noon and 4, and there’s plenty of doubt whether that will happen in any one location.
The last chance for gusty winds and small hail would be with storms between 8 tonight and 1 a.m. tomorrow, but with a bit of luck, many activities planned for the outdoors might just squeak through without incident, but it will be worthwhile to pay close attention.
