Governor Evers on Thursday declared September 21st through the 26th as “Ryder Cup Days” to welcome guests as they arrive at the tournament.
The proclamation is on display there, and aside it stands a cast iron eagle sculpture that once sat atop the flagpole above the Wisconsin State Capitol. That sculpture survived a 1904 fire that destroyed much of the State Capitol building, and symbolizes courage, strength and victory. The Governor hopes that the eagle will encourage team USA to work hard, aim high, and take home a Ryder Cup victory.
The Governor, along with Department of Tourism Secretary-designee Ann Sayers and Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Secretary-designee and CEO Missy Hughes also issued a video message to welcome guests and viewers to Wisconsin. You can view that video message here.
