SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Three more Sheboygan County residents, age 80 or older, have lost their battle with COVID-19, raising the death toll here to 82. Of those who have died of COVID-19, two were in their 30s, three in their 40s, five in their 50s, twelve in their 60s, 20 in their 70s, and 40 were 80 or older.
Test numbers were some of the lowest seen in months, with only 97 returns to report in the last 24 hours. 25 of those, or just over 25%, were positive, with 72 getting the good news of a negative result. 93 persons have recovered since yesterday, and the active case count dropped to 1,521. 17 persons, four less than yesterday, were hospitalized.
Wisconsin overall added 3,501 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to its total on Tuesday, with 442,396 having contracted the disease so far. 7,299 tests were reported in all, yielding a positive test rate of 48%. 54 more deaths were recorded, putting the death toll at 4,122. 184 more were hospitalized, and after accounting for deaths and discharges, the patient population was down by 10 persons to 1,461. 331 of those are in ICU beds, and 5 patients were being treated at the Alternate Care Facility at State Fair Park in West Allis. 107 more were hospitalized and awaiting their test results, and 513 in all were on ventilators.
