The US Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Brad Schimel, announced on Thursday the sentencing of a Manitowoc Man to 15 years in federal prison after being convicted of receiving obscene visual depictions of child pornography.
21-year-old Brandon Lemerond was convicted of sending and receiving, as well as engaging with and soliciting, images of underage victims following a referral from the National Center for missing and Exploited Children. Lemerond was already a registered sex offender based upon a 2023 conviction in Manitowoc County for Possession of Child Pornography, and was on probation for less than a year when the new charges were issued.
Following his release from federal prison, Lemerond will serve 6 years on supervised release and will remain on the state and federal registry of sex offenders.
The case was investigated by the Manitowoc Police Department and prosecuted by federal attorneys.
