ROCK THE PARK IS THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!
Students from Chilton High School’s music department recently stopped by the studio to talk about Rock the Park, a special end-of-summer concert designed to showcase the school’s student musicians in a different way.
Organized by music director Aaron Juhl, Rock the Park grew out of a school-year experiment that gave students the opportunity to explore modern rock music alongside Chilton’s traditional choir and band offerings. What started as an opportunity to try something different has grown into a five-band performance showcase featuring some of the school’s talented young musicians.

Members of MaJEsTiK—including keyboardist Evelyn, lead vocalist Trinity, drummer Megan and guitarist Joslyn—shared their experiences forming the band and performing together. Evelyn, who originally played classical piano, has embraced the challenge of playing keyboard in a rock setting. The group also talked about some of their favorite songs to perform, including Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun.”
Kamask members William and Peter also joined the conversation, discussing the band’s high-energy approach and their guitar arrangements. Their performances, along with those from the other student groups, will help make Rock the Park a showcase of the variety of musical talent coming out of Chilton High School.
The evening will feature MaJEsTiK, Kamask, Angelz After Dark and two additional student groups, giving audiences the chance to see five student bands perform in one outdoor concert.
Rock the Park is set for Saturday, August 29 at 7 p.m. at the Hobart Park Bandshell on W. Chestnut Street in Chilton, next to the Calumet County Fairgrounds. Admission is free, although donations are welcome.
