Thieves who carjacked a vehicle while armed in Milwaukee were eventually caught, but not until a high-speed chase entered Washington County.
Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies chased the vehicle at speeds exceeding 120 MPH northbound on I-41, a chase that was turned over to Washington County deputies when it crossed the county line.
Deputies took up position south of Highway 145 and engaged in a pursuit as the carjackers passed. Tire deflation devices were deployed by several agencies, but it took a high-risk traffic stop to bring the chase to an end in the Town of Addison near Allenton, about 12 miles further into Washington County.
The 30 year-old Milwaukee driver and his passenger, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man were taken into custody on multiple charges. Both have lengthy criminal records and were transferred to Milwaukee County. They’ll also face charges in Washington County connected to the chase there.
