Road Closed Sign
The two major highway projects in Sheboygan County are progressing, but the end is in sight for only one of them.
Highway 28 reconstruction from the south county line to Waldo is now receiving beamguard grading. Bridgework in Cascade is done, and the road surface is receiving its final lift of asphalt, a portion of the project that will take until about the second week of the month to complete. The project is anticipated to wrap up by September 30th.
Highway 32 between Cedar Grove and Sheboygan Falls remains closed as box culvert work continues with the southern leg between “V” and Cedar Grove nearing completion. Storm sewer work in Cedar Grove and backfill of the box culvert just south of County Highway “G” will be done this week, and guardrails will be installed between Walvoord and Clearview Roads. That portion should open around mid-September, while the portion between Highway “V” and State Highway 28 at Falls will take until late October to open to traffic.
Meanwhile, there will be pavement repairs done to I-43 along its length in Sheboygan County today and Wednesday between 6 AM and 2 PM, with moving lane closures employed as-needed.
