Poor air quality that’s plagued Sheboygan along with all of Wisconsin will not be pushed out today. Air quality monitors here showed little variation over the last 24 hours, staying in an “unhealthy” range of between 170 and 179. 150 is the threshold of better, though not perfect, air quality, and an air quality alert has now been extended until noon Friday.
Forecasters call the wildfire smoke incursion a “very dynamic” situation meaning that even after it clears out, it’s possible it could return once again. In addition, Ozone levels are elevated, contributing to the need to advise the public to limit time spent outdoors, especially if it involves vigorous work.
