As the new year was in its fourth hour, the first new baby of 2023 in Sheboygan County entered the world at Sheboygan County Aurora Medical Center. The child would soon be joined by two others as New Year additions to Sheboygan County families.
Valerie Nurek and Jason Joyner welcomed their first child, a 6 pound, 6 ounce baby boy named Jameer Lazar Joyner at 3:21 a.m. on Sunday morning, marking Sheboygan County’s first baby of the year. Less than two hours later, at 5:05 a.m., Lucia Hernandez-Morado was born to Sandra Morado and Tomas Hernandez at Aurora, coming in at 6 pounds, 10.2 ounces, Lucia is the third child and second sister in that family.
Then at 3:35 on Sunday afternoon, Brooke Ari Bolander was born to Hou and Darin Bolander at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital. At 7 pounds, 1 ounce, Brook now joins her twin sisters as the smallest member of the growing Sheboygan family.
