The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County have declined by about 22% since reaching the pandemic-high of 5,214 set on January 27 this year. On Friday, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported 4,108 active cases, a decline of 301 in the last day. The reduction is the product of 68 new confirmed cases balanced against 369 recoveries since Thursday. A total of 28,553 cases have now been recorded here during the pandemic. The total number of persons hospitalized for their symptoms increased by two, to a total of 1,141. At the same time, the number of current patients increased by 4 since Thursday, suggesting that two persons previously hospitalized were re-admitted. There are currently 32 patients in Sheboygan County hospitals with COVID-19.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County remains “High”, with a case rate of 850.53 per 100,000 persons, a decline of 102.31 points from Thursday. The percent of tests returning positive over the last 7 days was 24.26%, a decline of 0.57%.
As of Thursday, February 3, 2022, the seven-day average of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County was 54, down from 70 on the 2nd.
71,539 county residents have now received at least one dose of vaccine, as another 25 received their first shots in the last day. That puts the percent of residents with at least one shot at 62.1%. 58 more persons received their final dose, putting the total fully vaccinated at 67,862, or 58.9%.
