The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health said that an update of the Wisconsin Electronic Disease Surveillance System performed over the weekend has caused issues with data processing. As a result, no updated figures were available for posting on the County’s Coronavirus Case Dashboard on Tuesday.
What is known is that COVID-19 is maintaining its grip on Sheboygan County, as evidenced by an expanding number of school settings hosting active investigations. 44 of those are now being monitored by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, up one from last week, and 8 nursing homes are also being watched, the same number as previously reported.

And as the highly-contagious delta variant dominates cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin and nationwide, hospitals are finding their resources strained. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services now reports that state hospitals are operating at full capacity. 97% of ICU beds are currently in use, while intermediate care bed use is at 98%. In order to avoid further strains on facilities and health care workers, the DHS is urging that persons get vaccinated, wear masks, observe 6-feet of social distancing and wash hands regularly…much the same measures practiced at the beginning of the pandemic nearly two years ago.
