The Highway 23 expansion to 4 lanes between Plymouth and Fond du Lac will be entirely finished next year, but it could be as few as 3 years before more work begins.
On Wednesday the Wisconsin DOT announced a design project website to address proposed improvements to the highway in Sheboygan County.
The agency says the project’s purpose is to preserve the existing roadway and improve safety by repaving the road and replacing outdated guardrails between Taylor Drive in Sheboygan and County Highway P west of Plymouth. Besides other miscellaneous items, it’s also planned to reconstruct the County Road “TT” intersection, and that with Sunset Road which has two options under consideration.
The project is tentatively scheduled for 2028 but could begin as soon as ‘26. Public input is being gathered beginning with a virtual meeting next Thursday, as well as through a comment form available on the project website, available here.
