Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis says his office is investigating the death of a 4-month old girl at the Lazy Days Campground in the town of Farmington, west of Fredonia.
A 911 call was received around 7:30 AM on Tuesday from the 38-year-old mother of the infant, who reported that her child wasn’t breathing and she was trying to get to a medical facility. Deputies met the mother on Lakeview Road at County Highway “A” and took over CPR from a family friend until medical responders arrived. The infant was taken to Froedtert in West Bend where she was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation suggests the baby was sleeping in bed with the mother, and Washington County detectives are continuing their investigation into the exact circumstances of the baby’s death.
