Two afternoon crashes on Highway 23 on consecutive days required hospitalizations according to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office.
On Friday, emergency officials got a 911 call at 2:25 PM when a motorcycle driven by a 74-year-old Plymouth Man traveling eastbound on Highway 23 turned northbound at County Road “P”, and was struck by a westbound truck driven by a 62-year-old Town of Lyndon man.
The motorcycle operator was flighted by LifeNet Air Ambulance to Theda Clark Medical Center with serious injuries, while the Town of Lyndon man didn’t require immediate medical attention.
At around 3:15 PM on Saturday Highway 23 westbound had to be closed for about an hour at Sunset Road in the Town of Sheboygan Falls when an apparent equipment failure caused a rollover accident. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the westbound lanes, and the 34-year-old New Holstein woman driving it was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital by Orange Cross for treatment of injuries that are believed to be non life-threatening.
