With 18 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, balanced by 7 recoveries, the number of active cases in Sheboygan County has risen above 300 for the first time since February 5th when 324 cases were being monitored by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. 14,448 county residents have now battled the disease, an increase of 96 since Monday, and the death toll remains at 154, unchanged since July 28th. Hospitalizations were down by one in the last day, with 7 patients now in Sheboygan County. Total hospitalizations increased by 11 since Monday.
Five facility-wide investigations are now reported in Sheboygan County. Two are at long-term care facilities, and three are at non-healthcare workplaces. Rocky Knoll was identified as one of the facilities with at least one staff or resident identified with an active case of COVID-19.
At least half of Wisconsin’s population, 50.4%, are now fully vaccinated according to the State DHS, while 53.6% have received at least one dose. In comparison, 49.2% of Sheboygan County residents are fully vaccinated, while 52.2% have received at least one dose. That amounts to 56,786 and 60,202 persons respectively.
