43 persons are currently known by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health to be battling COVID-19. The count of active cases rose for the fourth consecutive day this week, and the addition of three new cases since Wednesday upped the running total to 13,945 as reported in the weekly summary issued on Thursday by the DPH. There are no current hospitalizations, however during the past week 4 more persons did require treatment, raising to 657 the total number treated in the county during the pandemic.
As for immunizations against the coronavirus, Sheboygan County lags behind state rates, which show 51.3% of state residents have received at least one dose, and 48.9% are fully vaccinated. Sheboygan County has 49.7% of its population with at least one dose, an increase of 0.3% since last week at the same time, while 47.8% have been fully vaccinated, up 0.4% since last week. As of Thursday, only 368 doses of vaccine had been administered here so far this week according to State DHS data.
