After so much isolation and restrictions during the pandemic, the title of Sheboygan’s Independence Day celebration – “Freedom Fest” – seems all the more appropriate this year. Last year the City of Sheboygan had to cancel everything as COVID-19 advanced towards a November peak. In contrast, this year will be two days of full-blown fun, and it’s only about 3 weeks away.
Events kick off Friday, July 2nd with the Venetian Boat Parade along the Sheboygan Riverfront where music and concessions start at 4, but the main event will be on Saturday, July 3rd.
Events start that day at 7:15 AM with the Sheboygan “Y” Freedom Run, a volleyball tournament on the North Beach at 8 and a parade at 9. Events also include a farmers market at 8 and Sheboygan Theatre Company presentation at noon at Fountain Park, while events at Deland Park run from noon till 11 PM, climaxing with the fireworks launched from between the piers at 9:30.
