Closures due to construction already have motorists in Sheboygan looking for alternate routes, but emergency repairs have now complicated the situation.
A water main break is blamed for closing a stretch of Erie Avenue from North 25th to North 28th Streets today. According to Dave McMillan of the Sheboygan Water Utility access to homes will be maintained, but repairs will take until sometime Friday before the road can be reopened to through traffic, which for now will be detoured onto Wilgus Road and North 28th Street.
Meanwhile, sewer repairs have forced the closure of Zimbal Avenue between North 7th and 8th Streets today and Thursday, as well as a one-day closure of Bell Avenue between North 5th and 8th Streets. In the case of Bell Avenue, new asphalt paving will be required sometime in the future, but no date has been set.
