On Monday, KFC announced that they were dropping their 64 year-old slogan, “finger lickin’ good” because of the coronavirus. The good news is that this is only a temporary drop until things get better.
The fast food chain said that the slogan doesn’t quite fit due to what’s currently happening with COVID-19. The news release said that the slogan will return “when the time is right.” KFC put out some images of the chicken that look the same as normal, but the “finger lickin’ good” phrase is blurred out.
The restaurant already got criticized this past Spring because of the slogan right when the outbreak started. People were saying that it was irresponsible to have such a phrase in their advertising. At least it’ll be back soon…hopefully.
