With a cry of, "Hollywood, I'm gonna be your teenage dream tonight!" Katy Perry on Tuesday night delivered an eight-song set on Hollywood Boulevard before a crowd of delighted fans.
The concert was both part of the premiere of Katy's film Katy Perry: Part of Me , which opens nationwide July 5, and to kick off Pepsi and Billboard 's "Summer Beats" live performance series. Prior to her mini-concert, Katy said of the film, "I hope that it inspires people to absolutely live out their dreams, no matter what obstacles they might face."
According to Billboard , Katy's performance included her hits "Part of Me," "I Kissed a Girl," "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" and "Firework," as well as the song "Wide Awake," which she wrote specifically for Katy Perry: Part of Me . She closed her set with "California Gurls" as beach balls and streamers descended onto the crowd.
Naturally, Katy was appropriately dressed for the concert -- in a red-and-white candy-striped skirt fringed with faux popcorn and topped with a bustier made of two silver glitter-covered film reels and yards of unspooled film. Katy was more glamorous when she walked the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre, wearing an elegant red strapless velvet gown that fell to below the knee, with matching red shoes. She was joined on the carpet by her parents and her grandmother.
Other celebs at the premiere included Selena Gomez , Carly Rae Jepsen , Rebecca Black , Victoria Justice , Kathy Griffin , Seth Green and Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski . No worries if you missed the concert: You can see an encore stream of it now at Pepsi.com/katyperry .
