SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man charged in the death of a 2 year old boy will stand trial.  28 year old Joshua Keenan appeared before Judge Timothy Van Akkeren Wednesday afternoon.  The court heard testimony from two medical experts who testified that 2 year old Trenton died from head injuries that were consistent with abuse.  Dr. Angela Rabbitt, who is consulted in cases where abuse is suspected, said this was a highly concerning case of child abuse.  Keenan is charged with 2nd degree reckless homicide in the death of the young child, after allegedly becoming irritated with Trenton, swinging him around by the arm and throwing him against a wall in their home while the child’s mother was away.  He admitted to investigators after a series of lies that the boy slipped from his grip and hit the floor, suffering fatal head injuries.  The boy was flown to Children’s Hospital, where he was kept alive on life support for 5 days, passing away on February 16th.  Keenan is being held in the county jail on $25,000 cash bail, and a date for the 4-day long jury trial has not yet been set.
