SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - Damage is estimated at $60,000 from a fire in a vacant home on the city of Sheboygan’s north side early this morning. The Fire Department was dispatched to the home at 1530 North 7th Street about 4:30. Shift Commander Gary Kolberg said firefighters quickly extinguished flames near a rear porch, but then discovered fire smoldering inside of the walls. Kolberg said they were able to keep the fire from spreading to the second floor but there was extensive smoke and heat damage to the entire home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
