SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The State Patrol is continuing its investigation of the accident which claimed the life of a Sheboygan youth Tuesday morning in the city of Sheboygan. Sgt. Brad Seymour said 18 year old Jaime Olivas was crossing 6th Street in the middle of the block when he was struck by a city of Sheboygan truck, which was picking up leaves. Olivas died a short time later at the hospital. Deputy Public Works Director Dave Biebel said the truck driver, 58 year old Gary Niemann, was hospitalized for counseling after the mishap. Biebel said Niemann was to retire in 10 days after 38 years with the city. Olivas was on his way to the nearby Tower Academy when he was struck. The State Patrol, which is handling the investigation because it involves a city vehicle, will be completing a reconstruction of the fatal mishap.
