SCAM!

I haven't received a phone call yet, but I hear there's a major phone scam happening around the country.

Apparently someone is calling residents with the good news that President Obama has passed a new law or federal aid program and will be footing your utility bill up to $1000.

Sounds too good to be true, right?

It is.

The scammer, who sometimes say he/she even works in the White House, then ask for the victim's personal bank account information with social security number.

Should you receive a suspicious call, my advice is to ask for their number so you can call them back later. Think they'd do that? Heh. Then pass the number along to our friends at the Better Business Bureau. ;)
