A press release from The Sheboygan A team and staff...
That is exactly what happened to the Sheboygan A’s Thursday night.
Successful? They filled the stands and raised a bunch money for Mark Reinemann on his benefit night
Embarrassed? There were a lot of first time fans there to see a ball game and there was no ball game. De Pere failed to show.
So with the help of the Sheboygan American Legion team, the A’s improvised some entertainment for the fans. The Legion players were in attendance to help honor Reinemann, a volunteer assistant coach at South. They saved the day.
The two teams held an informal scrimmage. Nobody kept score, substitutes ran in and out at will and, in a nutshell, almost everybody had a good time. Once again, the American Legion saved the day.
Except, of course for the diehard baseball fans who expected to see a game.
To them the A’s extended a sincere, heartfelt apology.
The A’s are out of town over the weekend and return to Wildwood Park next Wednesday night.
I got a chance to talk with the Sheboygan A's manager Chad Gehr on The Point Morning show today...
